What will a session look like?

How Our Sessions Work
Our decluttering and organisation sessions are booked by the hour, with a minimum of three hours and a maximum of six hours per day—giving us enough time to make real progress without feeling rushed.
What to Expect:Starting with a Chat – Before we begin, we’ll check in to see if anything has changed since your consultation and go over any specific needs or concerns.
Sorting & Categorising – While you take a break, we’ll carefully categorise everything in the space we’re working on. At this stage, things might look a little chaotic, but don’t worry, that’s completely normal. It always gets worse before it gets better.
Decision Time – Together, we’ll go through each category, not just deciding what stays and what goes, but understanding how and when you use each item. This helps us create a system that truly works for you so it’s easy to maintain long after we’ve finished.
Putting Everything in Place – Once we’ve refined what belongs, we’ll organise everything in a way that makes sense for your daily life. Then, you can step back and enjoy your beautifully refreshed space.
We’re here to make the process stress-free and supportive, so you feel in control every step of the way.
Do I need to prepare anything before our first session?
​Not at all! There’s no need to tidy up or move anything before we arrive—that’s exactly what we’re here to help with. We want to see your space just as it is, so we can create the best solutions tailored to your needs.
There’s absolutely no judgment—only support. Our goal is to make the process as easy and stress-free as possible. As we work through your space, we’ll wipe down surfaces and refresh areas while organising, so by the end of the session, everything feels clean, clear, and beautifully put together.
We’re here to help, not to judge, and we can’t wait to get started!
SHOULD I BUY STORAGE?
We actually recommend waiting until we’ve started the process before purchasing any storage products. This way, we can ensure that any solutions are perfectly tailored to your space, needs, and lifestyle rather than ending up with items that don’t quite work.
As part of our service, we provide personalised storage and organisation recommendations and can even take care of the shopping for you. We know that storage is a personal choice, and what works for one person may not work for another. That’s why we’ll always discuss our recommendations with you first, ensuring they suit your style and budget. If you’d like us to purchase items on your behalf, you’ll only ever pay the cost price with no markups, just practical solutions that truly work for you.
We’re here to make the process as seamless and stress-free as possible!
Will you take away donations?
​Yes, absolutely! We know that decluttering is about more than just organising — it’s about making things easier for you. That’s why all our sessions include donation removal, with one carload per organiser per session, so you’re not left with extra tasks at the end.
We work with a range of charities and organisations to ensure your donations go to the right place, helping those who need them most. Sustainability is also really important to us, so we do our best to recycle as much as possible and limit what ends up in landfill.
For larger clear outs such as garage decluttering or bulk donations, we’re happy to help arrange a pickup service for you, making the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Returns

We are happy to refund your product in the event of any damage or default where Lighten the Loads is considered at fault, within 30 days of purchase.
Unfortunately we will be unable to accommodate any refund on the candles we stock if it appears that your candle has not been burnt correctly in line with the candle care instructions supplied with each purchase. We strongly advise that these are read upon purchasing to ensure the best possible burning experience.
