I booked to have my kitchen refreshed by Kirstie. I was very reluctant as I have a large kitchen and like many, had gathered so much over the years. I knew it was going to be a big task and there would be some ‘heartbreaking' decisions. What I wish to offer is the lightness and happiness at the finished result.
You have to be integral to the whole process because key decisions have to be made about keeping some things, discarding others. But this too was a revelation. To be an active observer of Kirstie’s thinking, planning and eventual organising was a delightful extra surprise. As someone involved with learning for over 40 years, it was interesting, powerful and an eyeopener to how domestic organisation can be done.
She worked hard until the job was completed and kept making small changes on the way to get the best results for where items should be to make the contents in cupboards and drawers efficient, easy to access and sensibly placed. Since that day, I have only moved two small items to suit my tasks in the kitchen. That, given the huge change that was undertaken, is remarkable! I am so pleased with the ‘new’ set up and do not miss any of the removed items. I have even enjoyed the slight increase in my steps count and mental processes as I try to remember where things now live in my kitchen.
Kirstie was easy to work with, her considerable experience of decluttering and organising homes shone through and she was gently determined to have difficult decisions made with me so that a great result was the outcome. I would recommend her in a heartbeat.
